Gmail breaks into the top 10 most visited sites in the US

Gmail overtakes YouTube as 10th most visited US site.  More interestingly, Google’s Gmail passed YouTube in order to make the list. Both Gmail and YouTube have experienced increasing growth.The increase in traffic is mostly due to the new features that Google has introduced  to Gmail accounts over the last year, including mail googles, voice and video chat, free IMAP, multiple inbox option, and plenty of other new features that are in the works.

While Gmail does lag behind competitors like Windows Live Mail and Yahoo Mail.  Gmail does rank as Google’s 2nd most visited property. 1st being Google.com with over 68% of traffic, and YouTube comes in 3rd with 9.3%. In fourth and fifth are Google Image Search and Google Maps.
